What Do You Remember?

I used to watch CNN every morning while my attendant got me dressed, into my chair and ready for the day. I'll never forget watching live as the second plane came crashing into the South Tower of the World Trade Center over Aaron Brown's shoulder.

Like most of you, and much of the country, I spent the rest of the day glued to the TV and watched with horror as the day unfolded and stories began to fill the airways. It was a day none of us will ever forget.

Can you believe it's already been seven years? It seems like it was just yesterday. I'm guessing that may never change for me.

I would like to know what your memories are of that fateful day. What did you think on 9/11? Please feel free to comment.

I was on my way to work. I had dropped my then 2nd grader at the elementary school and was headed to the coffee shop to meet my husband before heading to work. This was all before 7 a.m....when my daugther was out of the car I turned on my favorite talk radio show and he said something about the World Trade Center has fallen down. I pulled into the parking lot my husband was in his car on the phone, I ran into the coffee shop and stop stunned looking at the t.v. and realized the radio guy wasn't doing some wierd War of the Worlds kind of show or talking about the 1993 when they bombed the WTC the first time but it was happening now. I worked for Morgan Stanley and that was our home. I had hundreds of friends there and didn't know if they were dead or alive. I went to work and they sent us home where I sat glued to the TV all day.

It was my second week of work on my new job teaching physical education. The large group of 5th graders came down the hallway and the teacher (a friend of mine) was crying and said we were under attack. She mentioned people jumping from the eightieth floor of the World Trade Centers and told me all about the different crazy things going on. And then she left me with the thirty kids to try to teach them. Wow. We somehow made it through the hour but it wasn't until later that I talked to anyone and found out anything.
