Obama Did It!

If you haven't already heard, President Obama overturned the ban on government-funding for embryonic stem cell research today by signing an executive order in the White House. I couldn't be more thrilled!

The thought of what lies ahead for this exciting science is truly mind boggling! You can read the entire article from CNN.com by clicking here.

Here is a video of his statement just before he signed the order:

A direct quote from the article:

"In recent years, when it comes to stem cell research, rather than furthering discovery, our government has forced what I believe is a false choice between sound science and moral values," Obama said at the White House.

"In this case, I believe the two are not inconsistent. As a person of faith, I believe we are called to care for each other and work to ease human suffering. I believe we have been given the capacity and will to pursue this research — and the humanity and conscience to do so responsibly."

Also from the article:

Former first lady Nancy Reagan also issued a statement Monday thanking Obama for lifting the ban.

"These new rules will now make it possible for scientists to move forward," Reagan said. "Countless people, suffering from many different diseases, stand to benefit from the answers stem cell research can provide. We owe it to ourselves and to our children to do everything in our power to find cures for these diseases."

President Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease after leaving office — an affliction that many scientists say eventually may be cured with the help of embryonic stem cell research.

I'm guessing the spirits of both Christopher Reeve and Ronald Reagan are smiling today.

I could write a lot more about my feelings on this subject, and how it will potentially benefit not only me, and literally millions of people; but instead, I think I'll save it for a chapter in my book. After all, that is one of the reasons I'm doing this blog. Remember, I'm not done yet!

Have I said yet how thrilled I am about this?

I welcome your comments.

Later,

Mike

Lets hope this new brave world can endure the buying and selling of aborted ( Murdered ) unborn children (The origin of the stem cells in question ) as it is taking yet another step of purchasing human beings that were unfortunate to be killed at or be for birth for the sake of the privileged to be able to receive a promise that this stem cell technology that can also be derived from other then dead babies can have a chance that the price of humans life's MIGHT be key in repairing damage body parts.
WE as humans are allowing "technology" to be our self worth thinking to justifies the ends justifies the means.
Adolf Hitler also said it is the duty of the state to abort children for the good of the whole. Adolf Hitler also was a charismatic leader that promised retribution of money so ALL would have fat pocket books whose means to his end was to murder millions "for the good of the peoples".
At what point will the line be redraw between the using the body parts of unborn children for profit ( USA health care system ) and killing you or our children or loved ones once some one needs them for the better of the whole.

This is not a theory or a possibility but a action that is NOW taking place with our tax dollars and our children that can not speak out for them self.
May GOD have great mercy upon us and our country as we destroy our counties fathers written document called the Constitution of America.

Obviously, neither one of you have a clue about what is going on here. If you had bothered to read any of the literature out there about what this is all about, you would know that no one is talking about taking stem cells from aborted fetuses. The stem cells are coming from the fertility clinics who are storing unwanted and unused embyros that will be thrown away because they are too expensive to store and will never be implanted into a woman.

I advise you to be informed about an issue before you spew your ignorant comments on someone's blog, especially mine.
